Exercise 1: Technology Selection and Milestone Setting (3 groups)

  • Based on the prior workshop result, each group identifies a list of relevant technologies or solutions to combat EID, prioritize, and set some initial milestones for the technologies to be applied in the APEC region, considering the key drivers and challenges over the timeframe of 15 years or longer.

Exercise 2-1: Technology Readiness Assessment and Linking Technology Milestones to Research (3 groups)

  • Each group discusses and makes some initial technology assessment based on the actual capacity across the APEC region and adjust the milestones if necessary.
  • Link the technology milestones to specific research topics.

Exercise 2-2: Proposing international collaborations and policy recommendations (3 groups)

  • Propose possible region-wide research collaboration to achieve the milestones.
  • Propose policy recommendation relevant to APEC as a region, or its member economies individually.

  • How much technology convergence do you observe from the roadmaps and what do they imply?

  • What would be the possible future collaboration among APEC members?
