PROJECTS
In 1998, the Center carried
out the first ever multi-country foresight research project on the topic
of “The
Future of Water Supplies and Management
in the APEC Region”. Research activities continued in 1999 with research
projects on Technology
for Learning and Culture
and Sustainable
Transport,
which were completed in early 2000. A further project on Healthy
Futures for APEC Megcitiesbegan mid-1999
and was completed in 2000. Once completed, all research projects
are followed up with post-foresight activities
around APEC to promote project
outcomes and encourage their implementation. The current project
is on Nanotechnology
(2001-2002).

SITE DEVELOPMENT
The
APEC Center for Technology Foresight is continually improving and updating
its web site with information and links. The Center is now in the
process of developing an electronic network of foresight practitioners
to promote the exchange of ideas and information.
TRAINING
WORKSHOPS
Foresight training events for
many different people, organisations and economies are an important part
of the work of the Center. The Center designs customised courses
in consultation with workshop hosts, and offers training events at both
local and international level. For more information about past training
