Scenario Planning, success foresight technique in conducting foresight workshops at all levels, multi-economy, national, sectoral, and organization level. The APEC Center for Technology Foresight has experienced in carry out Scenario Planning. Scenario Planning is an excellent and flexible tool for group discussion, brainstorming, and networking among the stakeholders. It opens gateways to explore new ideas for Scenario Planning, implications, policy setting, and decision making. APEC CTF conducted scenario planning workshops for multi-economy foresight projects since 1998.
APEC Center for Technology Foresight offers yearly international training workshops. To develop competence in using a portfolio of tools in Scenario Planning, delphi survey, technology roadmapping, environmental scanning, etc. Understanding the forces that are shaping the future, learning all that is required to plan, design and manage a foresight project effectively, acquiring the know-how to connect foresight successfully to policy and scenario planning.
Build up expertise in Scenario Planning
The major alternative for future management is Scenario Planning, which generates a range of possible alternative futures and then seeks to establish courses of action that are likely to be robust under this range of possible futures. As the first stage is an exercise in imagination, it benefits from social processes that emphasize creativity, and from engaging a variety of different experiences and insights. Over two sessions, participants will be introduced to the principles and procedures of Scenario Planning, examine Scenario Planning case studies, and develop their own Scenarios Planning (in small groups). Core competence: organization, performance and limitations of Scenario Planning.
